“Baby, you’re a firework
Come on, let your colours burst
Make ’em go, “Aah, aah, aah”
You’re gonna leave ’em all in awe, awe, awe” – Katy Perry “Fireworks”
I am singing this song while composing this blog. Now, tell me, who would not want to see fireworks display eh?? I know it is noisy but with its vibrant colors and synchronize effects produced by fireworks devices people love it. Such a magnificent and romantic (for me) to watch.
The 5th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition started last February 15, 2014 in SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City (Philippines). Every Saturday, participating countries like the Philippines, Australia, Spain, UK, France, China, Germany, Finland, Canada, and the USA will be competing and showcasing the best of fireworks display. On its first week, the Philippines and Australia opened the competition. I wasn’t able to go there on its first night as I was busy with a lot of things but last Saturday, February 22, 2014, I went to see the competition. It was Spain and United Kingdom’s competition.
If you want to have a nice view of the show, you have to pay which I think is not necessary. Since the show is an aerial competition I decided not to register. I just went to the parking lot few meters away from the designated viewing deck and where most people go. Families, friends, lovers were looking for a nice spot to have a better view of the show. Cameras ready on its tripod, video cameras from mobile phones were all set up and focusing their lens where the fireworks will be displayed. Food business owners took advantage of the event to install food carts and sell snacks just in case the spectators get hungry. Easy income eh.
So the moment has come and the show began.. Kids were clapping while uttering “ooohhh” and “wwooow”. Everyone was amazed and delighted on the fireworks.
Here are some of the photos I have taken.
First to showcase their fireworks was Spain.
Next is the United Kingdom…
