Swimming with the Whalesharks

Swimming with the gentle giants

Oh this is something extraordinary!!

We went to Oslob, a small town just 3 hours away from Cebu City, Philippines. They are known for one thing.. WHALESHARKS!

Oh yes, you read it right… Whalesharks, one of the largest fish specie and one of the gentlest animal I have ever seen.

In order to see/meet them, you have to be in Oslob as early as 5:30AM. There is a bus going to Oslob from Cebu City. First trip is 2:30AM, just the right time to be in Oslob at 5:30AM. You have to register and pay a fee of P500.00 (around $12) for locals and P1,000.00 (around $24) for foreigners. A 30-minute encounter with the whalesharks is worth the trip..

But before you get to your boat, you have to attend a short briefing to remind us on what to do and not to do during the encounter with the specie.

Sharing to you the video made by my friend who is also a traveler like me. Enjoy watching! 🙂
